IVIR Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Dee Kuenzig as Project Manager. Dee has a MS in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, College of Engineering and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dee comes to IVIR Inc. with experience managing technical Product Development in the medical simulation and rehabilitation markets. She also has experience working with educational planning and instruction in various settings. A seasoned technical leader with over 20 years’ experience in project management, marketing, and product development, Dee will be assisting with Technology Development and Program Management.

I/ITSEC Orlando – IVIR Inc. attended The Interservice/ Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC): the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training conference. Held in Orlando, Florida, I/ITSEC consists of peer-reviewed paper presentations, tutorials, special events, professional workshops, a commercial exhibit hall, a serious games competition, and STEM events for teachers and secondary students. I/ITSEC promotes international and interdisciplinary cooperation within the fields of modeling and simulation (M&S), training, education, analysis, and related disciplines at this annual meeting.

MHSRS, Kissimmee, FL – IVIR Inc. attended MHSRS, the Department of Defense’s premier scientific meeting. It provides a venue for presenting new scientific knowledge resulting from military-unique research and development. MHSRS is the only military/civilian meeting that focuses specifically on the unique medical needs of the Warfighter. IVIR Inc. had two presentations: “Military Medical Modeling & Simulation Applications of Medical Technology “Realities” to Improve Training Effectiveness – A Joint En Route Care Training System of Systems Architecture with Focus on Patient Handoffs and Transfers” and “A Systematic Review of Pre-deployment Training Capabilities for the Evaluation of Role 2 (R2) Medical Resources in the Afghanistan Combat Theater, Past, Present and Future” along with two poster sessions, “A Systematic Review and Analysis of Canine Medical Care Training” and “Setting Standards for Advanced Modular Manikin”.

University of Washington – IVIR Inc. attended a special meeting at The University of Washington to discuss the System Architecture and design for the Advanced Modular Manikin (AMM) project. Ms. Erin Honold represented IVIR Inc. and provided guidance for the integration of AMM into the Joint En Route Care Training (JETS) System of Systems Architecture which IVIR is the Prime contractor on.

SOMSA, Charlotte, NC – IVIR Inc attended SOMSA: the only medical association that brings together the unique blend of pre-hospital, tactical, wilderness, austere, disaster and deployed medicine. The primary goal of this conference is to advance the art and science of special operations medical care through the education and professional development of special operations medical providers. SOMSA provides the opportunity for military and civilian medical providers, academia and industry partners from around the world to meet and exchange ideas. SOMSA is the largest gathering of Special Operations Forces medical providers in the world that includes U.S. military, foreign military, domestic tactical law enforcement and tactical EMS providers. IVIR is proud to work with this agency.

MODSIM Virginia Beach, VA – MODSIM World is a unique multi-disciplinary conference for the exchange of modeling and simulation knowledge, research and technology. MODSIM works to join theory and practice across industry, government and academia–providing for an open interchange of information, knowledge and technology. Ms. Erin Honold’s presentation, “Using LiDAR Technology Combined with Position-Tracking Software and the Medical Training Evaluation System (MTES) in an Integrated After Action Review System for Mobile Medical Lane Training” discussed research using LIDAR technology with video and assessment capability to objectively track and assess medical training in a field environment.

MTEC Conference, San Antonio – The Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) held its Second Annual MTEC Membership meeting at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, the “home of military medicine” on Thursday, March 30th, 2017. A special networking event featuring poster displays by current members and invited government sponsors kicked-off the meeting inviting members to network with the MTEC committee and membership.

NDIA Military Medicine Conference, Baltimore – IVIR Inc. attended the Military Medicine Partnership Conference and Expo in Ellicott City Maryland. The theme of the conference was Arming the Military Medic through Innovation, Building Enduring Partnerships to Fill Warfighter Medical Capability Gaps. Ms. Baez had an opportunity to conduct one-on-one sessions with Government representatives to articulate IVIR’s current and future research efforts.

IMSH Orlando – Ms. Catherine Strayhorn attended the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare which is considered the most important healthcare simulation conference of the year. As a member of the Corporate Council Executive committee for SSH she helps guide the society to promote industry visibility and recognition of the science and study of simulation into the future.
